The vegetables have really taken off. We've harvested lots of zucchini, beans and cucumbers. Thank you to all the vegetable gardeners -- Mrs. O'Brochta and Mrs.Dunn did an amazing job weeding and Tina Gray continues to impress with her ingenuity. Wait until you see her new garden path. Tina is going to plant some cool-weather crops soon, so watch for more growth. And, those sunflowers! The students will be welcomed back by gorgeous flowers.
The perennials are doing well too. We've planted some new natives and are busy weeding and mulching (and weeding some more) this week. Oh, and watering like crazy!
A special thank yougoes out to the Gray family (Tina & Will), the Gillespie family (Liam, Haley and Kristin) and to Jasper Alvarez for gardening during the super HOT days this week. Jasper, Will and Liam built a shelter from stone for animals (complete with a basement and second floor) and filled it with veggies from the garden. They worked so well together and had a blast doing it. They, with Haley, filled all the bird feeders in no time flat.
